In Memory of Roger Chapman

On May 12, 2014, our club lost one of its longtime members, Roger Chapman.

Roger had a lifetime of experience with airplanes and flight. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran,

flight instructor at K Airway, managed the Kenosha, WI airport for many years and flew radio

controlled aircraft for decades. Roger knew airplanes, whether they were full sized or miniature. He built r/c planes

and he flew them with what always appeared to be so little effort that many times, you'd see him sitting

in a lawn chair at the Platteville Area Modelers field while he remotely piloted an r/c plane around the sky.

He will be missed by his friends in flight at the club.

He was a wealth of knowledge and never hesitated to help those who needed a hand.

We know Roger is now flying planes where the winds are always gentle

and the lawn chairs are always comfortable.

We miss you Roger.
